Kandiyohi County Landfill in New London, Minnesota needed to keep wind-blown litter inside its property. Gorilla Netting installed a 1,500 ft long, 20 ft high litter control fence around the landfill on new steel poles.

The challenge

What the site was up against

Wind-blown debris is a constant problem for county landfills, creating environmental hazards and safety risks for the communities nearby. Litter that escapes the perimeter has to be cleaned up, which is costly for the county and hard on the surrounding land.

The landfill needed a netting system that would actually contain that debris while making sense on cost.

What we built

The system we designed and installed

Gorilla Netting installed a litter control netting system 1,500 ft long and 20 ft high, with cantilevers on new steel poles.

The system uses knotless polyester netting and powerline and utility-grade hardware, with every netting panel custom built for the installation. It is engineered to hold up to harsh weather while controlling air-blown waste.

The outcome

What it means for the neighbors

Kandiyohi County Landfill has a 1,500 ft by 20 ft litter control fence with cantilevers on new steel poles, knotless polyester netting, and powerline and utility-grade hardware, catching wind-blown debris and keeping litter within the landfill premises. That reduces the hazards to neighboring communities and the cleanup work that escaped litter would otherwise require.
