Gorilla Netting installed interior bird deterrent netting inside a solid waste transfer station facility for Hillsborough County's Solid Waste Management Division. The project required custom-fit netting designed to block birds from entering through the front hangar door and nesting inside the active operational space.
Client: Hillsborough County Transfer Station
Location: Hillsborough County, FL
Services: Landfill Debris
Challenge
The county's transfer station was experiencing unwanted bird intrusion through a large hangar-style entry opening. With an interior space approximately 182 feet long and 50 feet high, a standard off-the-shelf solution was not feasible — the netting needed to be customized on-site to conform to the building's structure.
Solution
Gorilla Netting provided and installed custom bird deterrent netting spanning approximately 182 feet in length and up to 50 feet in height within the facility interior. The netting was customized on-site to fit the building layout and was sized to the county's approved budget following a revised proposal that brought the project within their financial parameters.
Outcome
The completed installation effectively blocked bird intrusion into the transfer station, protecting the facility's working environment and reducing the hazards associated with wildlife inside an active solid waste facility. The project was delivered within budget and accepted by the county upon completion.
