DuringAfterCherry Creek Innovation Campus in Centennial, Colorado is a career and college preparedness facility for high school students in the Cherry Creek School District. The school wanted a custom netted drone enclosure for its aviation fundamentals and drone pilot training programs, and Gorilla Netting designed, engineered, and installed one to fit a specific footprint on campus.
The challenge
What the program needed
The school runs a course on drone components, drone operation, and drone pilot skills, and its students needed a safe, controlled place to fly outdoors.
Space on campus was tight, so the enclosure had to fit a specific footprint beside the building, and the install had to go in through Colorado winter weather.
What we built
The system we designed and installed
Gorilla Netting designed and installed a cable-stayed netted drone enclosure measuring 40 ft long, 20 ft wide, and 30 ft high, a design that fits snugly within the campus while leaving students room to test fly drones.
The enclosure is framed by new class 1 wood poles and wrapped in 4" treated knotted nylon netting, built to handle the Colorado weather.

Cherry Creek Innovation Campus has a 40 ft by 20 ft by 30 ft cable-stayed netted drone enclosure of 4" treated knotted nylon netting on class 1 wood poles, giving students a safe, controlled space to test fly drones and train as pilots.
