AfterThe First Tee of Atlanta is a youth golf program based at John A. White Golf Course in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2019 the program and its general contractor brought in Gorilla Netting to extend the range's existing driving range netting system.
The challenge
What the range was up against
The extension had to tie into the existing netting system cleanly, which called for custom-made #18 7/8" knotless polyester netting and a 90 ft Class 1 wood pole.
Getting a 90 ft pole sourced and transported to the site was a job in itself. Setting it took precision to protect the surrounding properties.
The facility is central to the program's youth golf and education work, so the install had to happen with minimal disruption to its day-to-day operations.

The system we designed and installed
After a site assessment and planning with The First Tee of Atlanta, Gorilla Netting designed and installed the extension: a new 90 ft Class 1 wood pole carrying custom #18 7/8" knotless polyester netting, matched to the existing system.
The crew worked around the facility's schedule to keep disruption to its operations to a minimum.

What it means for the program
The First Tee of Atlanta's driving range netting system now has a new extension of custom #18 7/8" knotless polyester netting on a 90 ft Class 1 wood pole, adding ball containment on the range. The work is covered by a 5-year warranty on materials and labor.
