Admiral Farragut Academy Baseball & Softball Netting Replacement

The netting on the academy's baseball and softball fields was aging and needed to be replaced.

Each field had its own configuration, including backstop and baseline netting systems, so every application needed custom-fitted panels. The poles were staying, which meant the new netting had to match the existing pole placement at 25 ft and 50 ft intervals.

For baseball, Gorilla Netting replaced the netting on a five-pole system spanning 200 ft at 50 ft above grade, with a 150 ft by 48 ft primary panel and a 50 ft by 25 ft secondary panel on a 60 ft overall-length structure.

For softball, crews replaced two 100 ft by 28 ft systems covering the first and third baselines, hung on Class 5 poles that are 40 ft overall and stand 30 ft above grade. Every panel was custom built to fit the existing poles, and only the netting was replaced.
